  • Ep 18: Feeling and Separateness

    11/06/2019 Duration: 19min

Tune in to this episode to talk a bit more about feeling in our bodies as well as discussing one of the feelings that is that the core of humanness: separateness. I’m going into moving through an emotion by breathing through the bodily sensation and then I’m talking about why it’s so important to unify with our inner selves instead of separate when we’re struggling with something. Even more excitingly, I touch on the topic of how I’ve been moving through things lately and it’s a much different approach than I’ve ever taken before – instead of action-ing my way to a ‘better’ version of myself, I’m lovingly observing where I’m at with the aim of moving in a direction that helps me to feel loving towards myself. • Ep 17: Learning To Feel

    04/06/2019 Duration: 14min

It doesn’t seem like a difficult thing to do in theory: feeling our feelings. But for a lot of us, we haven’t learned to skill of recognizing our feelings in our bodies and releasing that energy in a way that brings us closer to ourselves. So today, we’re talking about the skill of learning to feel emotions in our body – something I am very much at the beginning of practicing – the ways that we avoid our feelings, and why it’s an important endeavor to process these things and not allow them to continue building up. I also explain the concept of detachment from our emotions and why this doesn’t mean an impersonal separation from your feelings, but rather a more intimate understanding of how you’re feeling. • Ep 16: How We Relate To Ourselves

    28/05/2019 Duration: 14min

Tying in with the last two episodes, I am delving into how we relate to ourselves, including self-talk. Are we emotionally relating to our inner selves in a way that is serving us? Do we widen the gap when we feel an uncomfortable emotion by piling other crap on top of it, or do we comfort ourselves? I am talking about attachment to our thoughts and emotions, moving through uncomfortable feelings, and staying open when we feel the pull to close ourselves off. Listen in and enjoy! • Ep 15: Awareness and The Mind

    21/05/2019 Duration: 23min

Following from last week’s episode (but not necessarily a ‘second part’ – this can be listened to on its own), I am discussing becoming aware of underlying thought patterns and also talking about the role of the mind. Our minds are not designed to make us happy. They are designed to be efficient and to repeat patterns, but so often we find ourselves identifying with the mind so much so that we live in a constant state of trying to appease the backlash we get from our thoughts. We stay busy and do our best to be productive because otherwise, what might we think or feel? Tune in to explore this topic more in depth. • Ep 14: Having Your Own Back

    14/05/2019 Duration: 22min

Ahhh, I love this topic: having your own back. Supporting yourself. Being your own bestie. There was a time not long ago that this would’ve made me roll my eyes so far back into my head it would potentially blind me, but I’ve changed a bit on that front and I love this concept now. In this episode I’m talking about why allowing ourselves to make mistakes and be human helps us to exist with ourselves with more ease – because really, what is the use of pursuing health and wellness if we aren’t doing from a foundation of acceptance for our humanness? We may tick all the “health” boxes, but we often ignore our emotional health, which is something we have the opportunity to take ownership of. • Ep 13: Mind-Body Healing with Lisa Jones

    30/04/2019 Duration: 22min

This is the last bit of my chat with my Health and Wellness Coach, Lisa Jones, where we’re talking about mind-body healing. We’re delving into the mind-body connection and how having a balance and interaction between the mind and body can facilitate health and wellness. We talk about what kinds of diseases we feel can be healed through mind-body connection work, but also we talk about that while self-healing may be POSSIBLE for most people that that doesn’t mean it’s always the RIGHT option. Choosing to process suppressed emotion, to meditate, to release, and to heal the body isn’t a moral decision – it’s a personal one – and we talk about why the most important aspect of any decision we make is giving ourselves permission to make it. • Ep 12: Interview with Health and Wellness Coach Lisa Jones, Part 2

    23/04/2019 Duration: 23min

This is part 2 of my interview with Lisa! In this episode, we’re talking about my personal coaching experience with Lisa, how we’re both not so sure about the term ‘coaching’, the common experience of feeling like a coach or therapist doesn’t like you, and many other topics! She also gives us a method that helps with obsessive thoughts that I swear by. You can find Lisa at lisajonescoaching.co.uk. You can find me on Instagram @callanmt or by going to linktr.ee/callanmt. • Ep 11: Interview with Health and Wellness Coach Lisa Jones Part 1

    16/04/2019 Duration: 39min

In this episode, I am interviewing Lisa Jones of Lisa Jones Coaching. She is the health and wellness coach who helped me get through my battle with symptoms of fatigue and who taught me what it meant to actually love myself and have my own back, which is the whole reason I made this podcast! You could basically say that Lisa MADE this podcast. She is telling us her story today of battling with 12 years of chronic illness – and even getting a therapy degree in the midst of it! We’re talking about the mind-body connection, the difference between being a “positive person” and actually having positive patterns of thought, and the difference between therapy and coaching. • Ep 10: Chronic Illness and Coaching

    09/04/2019 Duration: 20min

Hey, wait!! Even if you have no interest in the topic of chronic illness or coaching for that matter, there is still some great content here. I’m discussing my experience with ill health and how coaching was the answer for me in terms of getting well, BUT I also discuss why getting better from chronic illness isn’t just about ‘thinking more positively’ and why this option sometimes isn’t available to everyone. I talk about mindset, learning to be loving towards myself in order to heal, learning how to feel my feelings instead of avoiding them, and a whole lot more.Go to linktr.ee/callanmt to sign up to my e-mail list!Follow/message me on Instagram @callanmtCover art: Olex Oleole

  • Ep 09: Where I'm At With Things (1)

    02/04/2019 Duration: 26min

This is the first in a series I will be putting out every 3 months just to let you all know where I’m at with different areas of my life currently versus where I would like to be, how I’m working towards different things, and how I’m being right where I’m at with all of it…or trying to.I am putting these episodes out so that, over time, I can be an example of what is possible when you choose how to think, feel and believe (ya know, once I actually get the hang of that concept and develop that skill). I’m talking about these areas: health, relationship with food, money, career/podcast, substances, and friends and family. • Ep 08: Stress

    26/03/2019 Duration: 24min

I want to provide a bit of clarity from last week’s episode and expand on the topic of stress a bit more. Stress has become a chronic underlying feeling that dictates how a lot of us live our lives – and it makes sense! Living in the modern world with the minds we have is not easy territory to navigate, and we can give ourselves a big ol’ break for feeling anxious a lot of the time. It would be abnormal if we WEREN’T somewhat anxious to be honest.I also delve into some of the workings of the mind and the ego so that we can better understand where all of our craziness seems to be coming from. So let’s talk about why we tend towards stress and away from love, some questions we can ask ourselves to move away from stress and into love, and a few other random tangents.Go to linktr.ee/callanmt to sign up to my e-mail list!Follow/message me on Instagram @callanmtCover art: Olex Oleole

  • Ep 07: Setting Goals From Where You Are

    19/03/2019 Duration: 17min

How can we simultaneously accept exactly where we are and set goals for our future? This is the concept I’m exploring in this episode. I’m going into why it’s so important to decipher where we’re actually at and start from that point instead of trying to be different or further along than we actually are – something that doesn’t usually stick.Instead of trying to make a bunch of changes all at once and getting that rush that quickly fades away, we have to actually find the willingness to be in it for the long haul and learn to be disciplined enough to take it slow. Yes, that is what I’m saying – discipline isn’t necessarily getting to the gym 5 days a week – it’s making the decision to take things slow and stop looking for the reward that comes from the “quick fix”.Go to linktr.ee/callanmt to sign up to my e-mail list!Follow/message me on Instagram @callanmtCover art: Olex Oleole

  • Ep 06: Self-Honesty

    12/03/2019 Duration: 17min

This week, I am talking about being honest with ourselves. I’m discussing how getting to the root of what we’re feeling can be an excellent tool to start making positive changes, the reasons why we often avoid doing this, and why we can embrace it instead of avoid it.-Our unconscious beliefs largely control the way we live our lives, but once we bring them to light, it’s much easier to see what may or may not be working and do a bit of tweaking. So let’s bring some unhelpful beliefs to light and do some work.-Go to linktr.ee/callanmt to sign up to my e-mail list.-Follow/message me on Instagram @callanmt-Thank you to Olex Oleole for the podcast cover art!
